Welcome to the festival

Attached is the full tour program for the festival week. Please take the time to go over the various days and plan ahead to get the most out of the week. Festival staff and tour leaders will be happy to help with any questions or practical info you might need.

All the tours listed below are free for package visitors and there are several options to choose from every day.

BIRDING TOURS PROGRAM

All festival tours depart from the Pastoral Hotel in Kfar Blum:

Sunday 11/11/12 – Arrival of guests.

Afternoon tour: Birds and wildlife at the Agamon Hula-KKL Park: An introductory tour to get our first taste of the birds and wildlife of the region. We should expect an array of raptors and witness the tens of thousands of Cranes flying in to roost. 

Assemble at the lobby at 14:00 – departure at 14:30 till dark.

Monday 12/11/12

The Hula Valley at its best: A full day tour that covers the best sites the Hula Valley has to offer. The tour is arranged in a "hop on – hop off" manner, join what you like. 

05:00 – 9:00 – Sunrise mobile hide tour at the Agamon Hula-KKL Park

9:00 – 10:00 – Breakfast at the hotel

10:00– 12:00 – Fishponds and wetlands of the Hula Valley.

12:00 – 14:00 – Lunch break.

14:00 – Dark – Kingfishers, Waterfowl and Raptor roosts at the Hula Nature reserve.

Tuesday 13/11/12

Full day tour: The Northern Golan and Mt. Hermon: 07:30-17:00

Morning in the Valley: The Hula Valley Ringing station (Agamon Hula-KKL Park): 05:00 – 10:30

Afternoon tour: Fishponds and wetlands of the Valley - 14:00 till dark

Wednesday 14/11/12

Full day tour – Ma'agan Michael and the Mediterranean coast: 08:00 – 17:00

Morning in the Valley: Sunrise with the Cranes at the Agamon Hula-KKL Park.

05:00 – 10:30

Sunset tour: Hula Valley Raptor session: 15:00 till dark

Thursday 15/11/12

Morning in the Valley: The Hula Valley Ringing station (Agamon Hula-KKL Park) and more: 05:00 – 10:30

Full day tour – From the Sea of Galilee to the Bet Shean Valley: 07:30 – 17:00

Afternoon tour: Passerines and migrants upper Galilee - 14:00 till dark

Friday 16/11/12

Morning in the Valley: Sunrise with the Cranes at the Agamon Hula-KKL Park, a visit to the ringing station and other sites: 05:00 – 10:30

Full day tour – Gamla and the Southern Golan: 07:30-16:30

Afternoon tour: Roosting raptors and more, the Hula Nature Reserve: 14:00 till dark

Saturday 17/11/12

Morning in the Valley: lesser known sites of the Northern Hula Valley:

 05:00 – 10:30

Afternoon tour: Sunset Mobile Hide tour at the Agamon Hula-KKL Park – 14:30 – 18:00

Sunday 18/11/12

Short tour to the Hula Valley sites – 05:00 – 08:00
